Hegel
Hegel Music Systems started in 1988 when Bent Holter, an NTNU student, aimed to eliminate distortion in hi-fi amplifiers. He developed SoundEngine Technology, improving sound without performance loss. The company name came from Holter's rock band, and initial funding came from Telenor.
By the 1990s, Hegel introduced its first DAC and CD player. Despite the financial crisis, Hegel invested in new engineers and innovations. Today, it's a global leader in hi-fi, offering amplifiers, CD players, and advanced D/A converters, sold in 63 countries.
