Anagram Audio Brand Partnerships
Sudgen Audio
Sugden Audio was founded by James Edward Sugden in 1967 as part of Research Electronics, initially making scientific instruments for universities. The A21, the world’s first pure Class A transistor amplifier, gained acclaim after its brief partnership with Richard Allan. Manufacturing moved to Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, where all assembly processes were handled in-house.
In 1981, production shifted to the current Heckmondwike factory, where each product is handmade by skilled technicians. With six employees having over thirty years of service, Sugden maintains control over every manufacturing step, from design to dispatch, ensuring that all products reflect true British craftsmanship.
